Welcome to No BS Weather. We believe that weather apps should tell you what it feels like outside without harvesting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use our iOS application.

1. The Short Version

We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. We don't require an account, we don't use invasive analytics SDKs, and your AI weather summaries are generated entirely on your device.

2. Location Data

To provide you with accurate local weather, the app requires your location.

  • How it works: You can choose to provide precise GPS location or manually enter a fixed city.
  • Who sees it: Your coordinates are sent directly to the weather data providers you select (e.g., Apple Weather, Open-Meteo, NOAA, Tomorrow.io, etc.) to fetch the forecast.
  • Storage: We do not track your location history on our servers. Your saved locations and active tracking mode are stored locally on your device via Apple's SwiftData.

3. On-Device AI Summaries & Habit Inference

  • AI Personas: Our app uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) to generate your weather summaries. Your weather data is processed locally on your phone. No data is sent to external AI servers like OpenAI or Anthropic.
  • Habit Inference: To optimize your dashboard for your commute, the app locally records timestamps of when you open the app to guess your routine. This data never leaves your device.

4. Third-Party Data Providers

Depending on your settings (Basic or Pro), the app fetches data directly from third-party meteorological services. These include Apple WeatherKit, Open-Meteo, NOAA/NWS, Tomorrow.io, Meteoblue, AirNow, and others. By using the app, your IP address and requested coordinates are subject to the respective privacy policies of these providers.

5. In-App Purchases

No BS Weather Pro offers subscriptions and lifetime unlocks. Payments are processed securely through Apple via StoreKit. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID identity.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle your data (for example, if we add server-syncing in the future), we will update this policy and notify you within the app.
